Founded in 1921 by a famous Chocolatier and pâtissier M. Sagne from Verlay, Switzerland, this famous patisserie with its Palladian style murals joined the Valerie group in May 1993. A carefully planned refurbishment has restored the café interior to its former 1920s glory.
A tribute to its continued popularity has been the need to extend the seating area twice. And we are now able to accommodate 80 people.
In addition to our cakes and pastries this branch is also renowned for its Confectionery and makes a range of chocolates and truffles.
The original murals, which still grace the front section of the café, were painted in the 1920s, and are documented in the book 'Discovering London’s Period Interiors'.
