After opening its 105th store in Westfield this month, UK chain Patisserie Valerie is delighted with the warm reception received from Derby residents and visitors.

The new store welcomed The Worshipful Mayor of the City of Derby, Councillor Lisa Higginbottom to officially cut the cake, congratulate staff and declare the store open over the bank holiday weekend and has already seen a record number of people through the door.

“The new Patisserie Valerie is a welcome addition to our vibrant city and I was thrilled to be invited to attend the official opening,” Councillor Higginbottom said.

“The wonderful selection of cakes looked absolutely mouth-watering and the cafe and staff were extremely welcoming.

“In the country’s current climate, successful business ventures with the creation of new jobs are to be welcomed and I wish the new venue the best of success for the future.”

This latest opening comes after two years in which the chain has continued to expand from its London roots with over a 50% increase and 100 plus outlets now throughout the UK.

Patisserie Valerie’s CEO Paul May is delighted with the great reaction the new store has had since opening.
