2) Hot Drinks
There is a chill in the air and whether you are going for a crisp walk in the park or catching up for a cosy chat with friends. Autumn inspired hot drink is an absolute must. From hot chocolate with whipped cream to the seasonal fave #PSL
3) Knitwear and boots
Too warm for a big coat but it's jussssst right for a light jacket, teamed with a boot you are autumn ready!
4) The Changing leaves
Before the trees go bare they give us one last hurrah of beautiful colours. Seeing the pretty shades of brown, gold, red and orange make you fall in love with the season!
5) Cosy nights in
With the nights drawing in there is nothing more inviting than getting comfy for a night snuggled up. With a few clicks you can order something delicious to eat. There is usually new TV shows to get stuck into and start your countdown for CHRISTMAS and lots of Christmas cakes!
There's a reason apple picking is a favourite autumn activity. The crisp taste of apples is an iconic fall flavor and so versatile in recipes. You can use apples to make sweet and savoury dishes.
Spicy cinnamon is the perfect flavour for fall, especially when paired with other classics like apple, sugar, or vanilla. Apple and cinnamon are the best fall flavour combo for sweet treats.
The deep, rich flavours of caramel are accented with a hint of sea salt in this decadent flavour that pairs well with apples, ice cream, or brownies. You can make a simple salted caramel sauce to drizzle on just about any dish.
An aromatic blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and ginger. Sometimes allspice is included.
Before there was pumpkin spice, there was chai to keep you warm and cozy all autumn long. You might even recognize some of the flavors in chai as they are similar to pumpkin spice with clove, cinnamon, and cardamom. The classic way to enjoy chai is in tea, but you can also use it to make banana chai bread, chai cheesecake, and chai apple pie.
Pears are often overshadowed by pumpkins and apples during the autumn months, but pears are also at their peak sweetness during this time. Use pears to create a moist almond and pear cake, poached pears, or a baked brie with caramelized pears.
The peppery sweet flavours of ginger also make it a tasty fall spice. Fresh ginger has a spicier bite than ground ginger, but both will add a little zing to your recipes.
Did you know...
Fall once was called Harvest. When you think about it, it's kind of strange that fall is the only time of year with two names: spring, summer, and winter each only have one name, while fall is also known as autumn. The season once had a third name as well—in 12th- and 13th-century Middle English, fall was called "haerfest," which was the act of taking in crops. Eventually, it was known as "harvest" because the full moon closest to the autumn equinox is called the harvest moon.
Know someone with an Autumn Birthday?
CHILDREN BORN IN THE FALL MAY BE MORE LIKELY TO LIVE LONGER. Research has shown that people born in the fall are more likely to live to 100 years old, and no, it's not just a coincidence. Studies show that the month you're born in can influence the environment you develop in, both inside the womb and out. That environment can do everything from affecting your behaviour to your overall health.
