This privacy policy describes how and when we collect, use, and share your information from our social media channels to any internal department or third-party. When using any of our social media channels you consent to the collection, transfer, storage, discloser, and use of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. We will only collect data that is necessary and relevant to the delivery of Patisserie Valerie services. This includes any information you choose to provide that is deemed sensitive under applicable law.

When this policy mentions "we", "us" or "our", it refers to the controller of your information under this policy. The data controller responsible for your information is Patisserie Valerie, an English company with its registered office at 146-156 Sarehole Road, Hall Green, Birmingham, West Midlands, B28 8DT. Basic Account Information:

When contacting us, whether it be by a public comment or a private message, you are providing us with basic personal information, such as your name/username and location if specified on your account.

Contact Information:

If further communication is needed from an internal department or third party further contact information will be requested and required. This information can include: your email address, mobile or telephone number, delivery address, card address, card holder details and birthday details. If you do private message us we will keep your message, email address, and contact information to respond to your request and for a log purpose only. We will not pass these details over to any internal department or third-party without your full consent.

If you are under 16 and we require information from you, we will need to receive consent from your parent or guardian before can we proceed.
Additional Information: You may choose to provide us with additional information to help improve and personalize your experience with our brands. For example, we may ask you for specific dietary requirements, allergen information, interests, favourite products, hobbies, location and local store/café. We may later personalize content, such as making suggestions or showing certain content which may be more of an interest to you. You can choose to stop seeing these suggested posts/social targeted adverts by un-following our page/un-liking our page or hiding our posts.

Targeted content and adverts:

Our social media accounts are supported by advertising. We may use the information described in this Private Policy to help make our advertising more relevant to you, to measure its effectiveness and to help recognize your devices to serve you ads on and off of social media. We do not use the content you may share with us privately in Private Messages to serve you adds. We do receive information based on how many people view our content on our social media channels. When this happens, we keep a log of your account profile, this log data will include your IP address. We use this log data to make inferences, like what topics you may be interested in, and to customize the content we show you, including ads.

We use cookies to provide our services and help collect data. We do this to understand your use of our websites, improve your user experience and enable personalized features and content.

Different cookies are used to perform different functions. When visiting our website you will be asked to accept the use of cookies, if you agree to this we may use social media advertising to contact you again regarding, for example: show you a speicifc service again which you may have viewed on our website. If you choose to enter our competitions and you are randomly selected as a winner then to claim your prize relevant contact/delivery information will be required. When entering our social media competitions, you are agreeing to our competition terms and conditions and this Privacy Policy which will include: agreeing for us to use your name publicly to announce the winner. When announcing winners to our competitions we will either reply directly to your comment, announce your name in the comments of the competition post or publish a new post announcing your name.

By liking/following our page you are automatically entered into any competitions we may run across our social media channels. If you are randomly selected as a winner without prior notice, your name, as stated on Facebook, will be used as an announcement. This could either be in the comments of a post, via a private message or as a new post. You will then be asked for the relevant contact/delivery details so your prize can be organised. 

Information Storage

Your data will be held on the social media platform within Patisserie Valerie depending on which brand you contact/interact with. This information will also be securely stored with our third-party social media supplier. Your data may also be held by systems and support networks within the Group involved in processing your comments/enquiries – for example if you wish to make a complaint, this will be shared with the Customer Care Team and any other relevant departments.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

User Consent or Direction:

We may share or discuss your data with appropriate parties involved in any circumstances, for example with an enquiry, a complaint or a product purchased, but we will only do so in line with data protection requirements. For example, we may need to discuss your Afternoon Tea voucher purchased via a third-party supplier, or we may need to obtain information from another store/internal department within our brand family from which you have obtained services from previously, to ensure the service we are providing to you is accurate.

From time to time, we may use the data we have obtained from you for statistical analysis and research which may be used at a corporate, national or global level by ourselves. We may also provide data showing trends to third party suppliers. It will not be possible to identify you or any other individual from such data.

If you share an image with us across any of our social media channels, you are giving us full consent of yourself and anyone else who is in the picture to re-post/share at any given time. You will also be given full credit for the image used.

If you would like to explicitly refuse consent for your information to be shared, for example with other departments or third-party suppliers, it may mean that the service that can provided to you is limited.
