I ordered this for my daughters 21st Birthday, the ordering was easy, confirmation and updates were great and delivery from DPD with dry ice meant the cake came in great condition, the taste was amazing and it went down a treat, will certainly order again, tasted and looked amazing.

This box was lovely, every slice made perfectly and was exactly what we needed to help us choose what full size cake to buy.

The cakes looked and tasted wonderful.

I had ordered it for my husband's birthday party and it was a hit. My husband loved his birthday cake plus the others as well who tasted it.

Beautiful cake even through delivery driver threw it upside down into the porch. Because it was so well packed it did t make a difference. We bought it for our mum and dad’s 65th anniversary as they always loved Neapolitan ice cream and it tasted exactly like it. Light, creamy and tasty

Ordered this cake for my daughter’s 21st birthday, really wasn’t expecting it to be as delicious as it was, with it being frozen, but Wow.. very tasty and even my dad said it was lovely and he’s a critic of everything believe me!! I jazzed it up a bit some decorations and it turned out great.. thank you

I had an cake years ago from Patisserie Valerie that I had not enjoyed but I thought I'd give this cake a go.
It was really nice. I took a while to defrost but the measure of how this cake was enjoyed was every plate returned clean -
The brownies didn't move quite as much.

Contrasting flavours mixed well, very enjoyable and more-ish.

Ordered this cake for my father's 60th. It was small but perfectly formed as it was only for 3 of us (with leftovers). Arrived surrounded in dry ice the day of his birthday as selected. It was delivered by DPD and there wasn't any choice of when it would be delivered but luckily it was before midday.
This cake was left on the counter to defrost and though we didn't end up eating it until 9 hours after arrival, it held up well.

Taste profile:
The sponges are light and fluffy like a madeira rather than super-hydrated with simple syrup as some cakes are. My preference is the latter but it was still tasty.
The chocolate layer was legitimately chocolate-y and surprisingly rich from its chocolate buttercream, this was contrasted with a sweet strawberry jam in the pink layer. And the rest of the buttercream is very light, not sugary, more reminiscent of fresh cream than any other buttercream I've had.
It's a tasty cake that really does invoke the feeling of eating a neopolitan ice cream especially as we ate it slightly melted lol. Overnight in the fridge the icing firmed up.

I could really appreciate the logistic complexity of handling various layers, colours and flavours in one cake. Baking this at home would've been a nightmare as a novice, so it was definitely worth paying for that convenience to get something a bit unique. And it was a fun eating experience, very moreish given that you've got 3 cakes in one.

That being said, I probably wouldn't have bought it if wasn't reduced by the £5 it is at the moment. I'm happy to spend the money on the cake but the £7.95 delivery should be baked into price. The cake will always need the care that was taken to package it, so I'd prefer that to be part of the cake price upfront.

All in all, we were happy because we wanted something a bit unique as a cake but familiar as a flavour. My dad loved it, immediately had a second helping and it made his 60th that much more special.

My wife bought me this for my birthday ( yes I’m 42 😂) , it is by far the best chocolate cake I’ve eaten and believe me I’ve tried more than my fair share over the years .
I’d recommend not only the cake but the company for everything from the delivery to the final bite.

This must be one of the best cakes I’ve ever had! Looks exactly like the pictures and tastes amazing. The chocolate part was absolutely delicious and moist and the pistachio part inside was crunchy. Everybody loved it and said it was special and tasted very nice. Excellent packaging.

This cake was absolutely to die for the sponge was light as a feather the Swiss buttercream was delicious, and the jam too, came extremely well packaged so no damage to cake, Thankyou amazing!!!

Made a spectacular cake/dessert with a small dollop of vanilla ice cream.

This was the perfect cake for our occasion and the candles we had as an extra made it even more special thankyou

I bought this cake for my daughter’s 2nd birthday. It was hands down the best chocolate cake I have ever had. All the guests were raving about it. It was well packaged and easy to follow instructions for how to defrost. The design was perfect for what I needed it for and was carefully crafted. I did buy a few little extras for further decoration due to my daughter’s birthday being rabbit themed but even without the extras I added it would have been perfect. I would say if you are buying extras to add on top of it choose lighter weight things because I bought a heavy fondant rabbit and it sunk into the cake because how light and moist the cake is.

It’s a great idea to freeze the cakes and send them with dry ice to keep the shape and flavour and to avoid damage. The box was also clearly labeled with handle with care and this way up. Unfortunately the DPD delivery driver clearly couldn’t read as he came around the back of the house and literally just threw it into the open patio door and on its side. When I pointed out the labels on the box and told him there was cake in it he just shrugged his shoulders turned the box back into the right side up and left. If the cake wasn’t frozen it would have been a complete disaster however it stood its own with minimal damage, just a little scuff on one corner of the buttercream but not noticeable due to the design and the wings of all 3 butterflies broken due to their carefully structured and delicate nature but nothing a little bit of melted chocolate couldn’t fix. Again not noticeable, but that’s probably because the cake was quickly eaten once defrosted and happy birthday sung, due to the deliciousness of it.

This cake certainly made up for the cake I ordered for her 18th (not a Patisserie Valerie cake, I hasten to add). I only wish I could have had a slice.
Perhaps I'll use my 10% discount on a Vegan cake all to myself 😀 x

Ordered for my aunts birthday on Saturday, ordered delivery for day earlier to ensure all was ok, no problem at all, arrived on time. looks delicious and very well packed for delivery.

First time I have bought from Patisserie Valerie and I was impressed . The cake arrived in very good packaging and was so fresh for days , tasted beautiful, looked professional and was a fabulous birthday cake . The only negative was it wouldn’t serve 14 ha !
